Description
Tender chicken braised in apple cider with onions and herbs for a comforting fall dish.

- 2 lbs bone-in chicken thighs
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Brown the chicken on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.
- Remove chicken and add onion and garlic to the skillet.
- Cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Pour in apple cider and bring to a simmer.
- Return chicken to the skillet and braise covered for 25-30 minutes until cooked through.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread. Adjust cider for sweetness.
