  • Author: Chef Emy
  • Total Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

This classic dessert combines tart cranberries with sweet apples under a buttery, crunchy oat topping. It’s perfect for fall gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced peeled apples (about 6 medium)
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples, cranberries, granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon until evenly coated. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the oats, 1 cup flour, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the fruit in the baking dish.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes
