Description

A traditional Brazilian stew made with black beans, pork, and beef, slow-cooked to perfection and served with rice.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried black beans
  • 1 pound pork shoulder, cubed
  • 1/2 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the black beans in water overnight.
  2. In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add pork shoulder, sausage, and bay leaves; cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Drain the beans and add them to the pot with enough water to cover.
  5. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 hours or until beans are tender.
  6. Season with salt and pepper before serving.

Notes

Serve with white rice, collard greens, and farofa for an authentic experience.
