Description

A classic comfort food dish featuring tender beef in a creamy mushroom sauce served over egg noodles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium-high heat. Cook beef strips until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add remaining butter. Sauté onion and garlic until softened.
  3. Add mushrooms and cook until tender.
  4. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Return beef to the skillet and simmer until heated through.
  6. Stir in sour cream and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve over cooked egg noodles and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra tenderness, marinate the beef in oil and vinegar before cooking. Ensure the sour cream doesn’t boil to prevent curdling.
