Description
A classic Russian dish featuring tender beef in a creamy mushroom sauce served over egg noodles.
Ingredients

- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- 8 oz egg noodles
Instructions
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Add beef and cook until browned. Remove beef from skillet.
- Add mushrooms to skillet; cook until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over mushrooms and stir for 1 minute.
- Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until thickened.
- Return beef to skillet; reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in sour cream; season with salt and pepper. Do not boil.
- Serve over egg noodles.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use beef tenderloin. Serve with a side salad.
