Description
A creamy beef stroganoff made with tender beef strips, mushrooms, and onions in a sour cream sauce, served over egg noodles.

- 1 pound beef sirloin, cut into strips
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces egg noodles
Instructions
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add beef strips and cook until browned; remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onions, garlic, and mushrooms; cook until softened.
- Sprinkle flour over the vegetables and stir to combine.
- Gradually add beef broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Return the beef to the skillet and stir in sour cream; heat through without boiling.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the beef mixture over the cooked egg noodles.
Notes
For a healthier version, use low-fat sour cream and lean beef. Pair with a side salad for a complete meal.
