For the Crust:
- 1 1/2 cups almond flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds for topping
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in almond extract.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle sliced almonds evenly over the top of the batter.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
