For the Crust:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely diced apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, egg, salt, and remaining sugar. Gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
- Knead dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced apples.
- Roll tightly, slice into 8 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.
