For the Crust:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup finely diced apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, salt, and remaining sugar. Gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
  3. Knead dough for 5 minutes, then cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and diced apples.
  5. Roll tightly, slice into 8 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  7. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for glaze. Drizzle over warm rolls.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
