For the Crust:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup hot sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- Cooking spray
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
- In three separate bowls, place flour (seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder), beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs mixed with cayenne pepper.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip in egg, then coat thoroughly in panko mixture. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway, until chicken is cooked through and coating is golden and crispy.
- While chicken bakes, whisk together hot sauce, honey, and melted butter in a small bowl. Brush the hot honey glaze over the chicken during the last 5 minutes of baking.
