For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined (do not overmix).
- Lightly grease the waffle iron and pour the batter onto the hot iron, using about 1/2 cup per waffle.
- Cook until golden brown and crisp, about 3-5 minutes per waffle.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
