A hearty and flavorful Russian-style pie filled with tender chicken and sautéed cabbage.

For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 lb chicken breast, cooked and shredded
- 2 cups cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add water until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté onion until translucent, then add cabbage and cook until softened. Stir in shredded chicken, pepper, and dill. Remove from heat.
- Roll out dough into two circles. Place one in a pie dish, add filling, then cover with the second dough circle. Seal edges and brush with egg wash. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden.
