For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream together 1/2 cup granulated sugar and 1/2 cup softened butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Roll the cookie dough into small balls, flatten slightly, and place a small dollop of cream cheese mixture in the center. Fold the edges over to seal and form a round cookie.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden. Let cool slightly.
  8. Brush the tops with melted butter and roll in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
