For the Crust:

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 cup sweet corn kernels
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook macaroni according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to form a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese until melted. Mix in cooked macaroni and corn.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
