For the Crust:

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Add bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Sauté until vegetables are tender.
  4. Sprinkle Cajun seasoning over the sausage and vegetables, stirring to coat evenly.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in cooked pasta and Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
