For the Crust:
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sausage and cook until browned.
- Add bell pepper, onion, and garlic. Sauté until vegetables are tender.
- Sprinkle Cajun seasoning over the sausage and vegetables, stirring to coat evenly.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Stir in cooked pasta and Parmesan cheese. Mix well until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
