For the Crust:
- 1 lb Italian sausage, casings removed
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup ditalini pasta, uncooked
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large pot, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add the ditalini pasta and cook according to package instructions.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, basil, and oregano. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
