Crispy Chilli Chicken

A delicious and spicy dish featuring crispy chicken tossed in a tangy chilli sauce.

For the Crust:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1/2 cup spring onions, chopped

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, mix the chicken with cornflour, all-purpose flour, salt, black pepper, and beaten egg. Coat well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken pieces until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  3. In a separate pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  4. Add the bell peppers and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  5. Mix soy sauce, chilli sauce, vinegar, and honey in a bowl. Pour this sauce into the pan with the peppers.
  6. Add the fried chicken pieces and toss well to coat with the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle red chilli flakes and spring onions. Stir for another minute and serve hot.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
