Crispy Chinese Honey Garlic Chicken

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a bowl, coat chicken pieces in cornstarch, then dip into beaten eggs.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer for 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Return chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly in the sauce.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
