For the Crust:

  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are fork-tender.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash with a potato masher until smooth and creamy.
  5. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm.
