For the Crust:
- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until potatoes are fork-tender.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Mash with a potato masher until smooth and creamy.
- Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm.
