For the Crust:
- 1 package King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 count)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Place the top half back on.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and the filling is set.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Drizzle over the warm danish before serving.
