For the Crust:

  • 1 package King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 count)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Place the top half back on.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and the filling is set.
  5. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze. Drizzle over the warm danish before serving.
