For the Crust:

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan.
  4. Spread ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  6. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
