  • Author: Chef Emy

Description

A sweet and juicy peach pie with a flaky crust, perfect for summer desserts.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 2 pie crusts (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix peaches, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until well combined.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the peach filling into the crust and dot with butter.
  4. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling. Crimp the edges to seal and cut slits in the top for ventilation.
  5. Brush the top crust with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly. Let cool before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
