Fudgy brownies swirled with spiced pumpkin puree for a delicious fall twist on a classic dessert.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice.
  6. Spread 2/3 of brownie batter into prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of pumpkin mixture over batter, then swirl with a knife. Top with remaining brownie batter.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Cool completely before slicing.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
