For the Crust:

  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized (about 20 minutes).
  3. Add beef slices and cook until browned (about 5 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth while stirring.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat. Sprinkle with Gruyere cheese and cover until melted (about 2 minutes).

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
