For the Crust:
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until caramelized (about 20 minutes).
- Add beef slices and cook until browned (about 5 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Gradually add beef broth while stirring.
- Stir in heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat. Sprinkle with Gruyere cheese and cover until melted (about 2 minutes).
