Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 6 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 4 cups day-old biscuit or white bread cubes
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups chicken or turkey broth
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté celery and onion until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, sage, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in beaten eggs and broth until mixture is moist but not soupy. Adjust broth as needed.
  5. Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until top is golden brown and set. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
