Description

Delicious bite-sized pastries filled with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, perfect for appetizers.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut into 2-inch squares.
  3. Place a slice of tomato and mozzarella on each square, then top with a basil leaf.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, and drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  6. Remove from oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.

Notes

For best results, use ripe tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. These can be served warm or at room temperature.
