Description

Festive holiday appetizer featuring creamy cheese balls rolled in a mixture of cranberries and walnuts, perfect for Christmas gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add the shredded cheddar, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Stir in the chopped cranberries and most of the walnuts, reserving some for coating.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  5. Roll the mixture into small balls using your hands.
  6. In a shallow dish, combine the remaining walnuts and chopped parsley.
  7. Roll each cheese ball in the walnut and parsley mixture to coat.
  8. Place on a serving platter and refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with crackers or veggies.

Notes

For best flavor, refrigerate overnight. Can be made up to 2 days ahead.
