  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (red, green, yellow)
  • For assembly:
  • Ribbon candy or licorice for bows
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until combined.
  5. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut into square shapes with small rectangles on top for presents.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
  7. For frosting, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Divide and tint with food coloring.
  8. Frost cookies and decorate with bows and sprinkles.
