Description
A thick, homemade chili sauce that’s perfect for topping hot dogs. Made with ground beef, beans, and classic spices for that authentic ballpark flavor.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a large skillet or saucepan, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the water and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot over hot dogs.
Notes
For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. This sauce can be made ahead and reheated.
