Description

A festive puff pastry appetizer shaped like a Christmas tree, filled with creamy camembert, tart cranberries, and crunchy pistachios.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of ready-rolled puff pastry
  • 150g camembert cheese, sliced
  • 100g dried cranberries
  • 75g shelled pistachios, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten for glazing
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut the pastry into a large triangle shape to form the base of the tree.
  4. Layer the camembert slices, cranberries, and pistachios evenly over the pastry, leaving a border around the edges.
  5. Fold and shape the pastry into a tree form, sealing the edges with beaten egg.
  6. Brush the entire tree with the remaining beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh thyme, and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This recipe is best served warm and pairs well with a glass of white wine. Ensure the camembert is at room temperature for easier slicing.
