Description

This creamy and cheesy macaroni and cheese is perfectly golden on top, with a rich, comforting flavor that makes it irresistible.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Mix the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni.
  7. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  8. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil and sprinkle over the top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

For extra cheesiness, add more cheese on top before baking. Adjust seasoning to taste.
