Description

A festive Easter dessert featuring a poke cake decorated to resemble an Easter bunny, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • Easter bunny-shaped candies for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions using water, oil, and eggs.
  3. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. While the cake is baking, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1/2 cup cold water.
  5. Once the cake is done and still warm, poke holes all over the top using the end of a wooden spoon.
  6. Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
  7. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours or until set.
  8. Spread the whipped topping over the cooled cake and decorate with Easter bunny-shaped candies.

Notes

For a more vibrant color, use different flavored gelatins. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
