For the Crust:

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 medium tomatoes (diced)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and place on a baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter and minced garlic. Spread evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle diced tomatoes and chopped basil over the bread. Season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Slice and serve warm.
