For the Crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup reduced apple cider
- 1/2 cup milk
- For coating: 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 cup granulated sugar mixed with 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease donut pans.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and reduced cider mixed with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
- Spoon batter into donut pans, filling each about 2/3 full. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.
- Cool slightly, then brush with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
