For the Crust:
- 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
- Vanilla ice cream or yogurt for serving (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine oats, walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cubed butter and mix with fingers until crumbly.
- Spoon the crumble mixture evenly over each pear half. Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until pears are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm, with ice cream or yogurt if desired.
