Warm, tender baked pears topped with a crunchy, spiced walnut and oatmeal crumble. A simple, elegant dessert that’s both wholesome and satisfying.

For the Crust:

  • 4 ripe but firm pears, halved and cored
  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • Vanilla ice cream or yogurt for serving (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine oats, walnuts, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add cubed butter and mix with fingers until crumbly.
  3. Spoon the crumble mixture evenly over each pear half. Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the top.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until pears are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm, with ice cream or yogurt if desired.
