Black Pepper Chicken with Mushrooms

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb boneless chicken breast, sliced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tbsp water
  • 1/2 onion, sliced

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add sliced chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add onions and mushrooms, stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Pour in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and black pepper. Stir well to coat the chicken and vegetables.
  5. Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce. Cook for another minute.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
