Creamy mashed potatoes elevated with rich brown butter for a luxurious side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook until potatoes are fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.

- Drain potatoes and return to pot. Mash with a potato masher or whip with a hand mixer.
- Heat milk in a microwave-safe bowl until warm, about 1 minute.
- Add warm milk to potatoes and mix until combined. Gradually stir in browned butter until potatoes are creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
