For the Crust:
- 3 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup caramel candies, unwrapped
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- Wooden skewers or popsicle sticks
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Wash and dry apples thoroughly. Cut each apple into 8 wedges and remove seeds. Insert a wooden skewer into each wedge.
- Melt caramel candies with heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip each apple wedge into the caramel, allowing excess to drip off. Roll in chopped nuts or sprinkle with chocolate chips while caramel is still warm.
- Place coated apple bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 15 minutes until caramel sets before serving.
