Description

Ingredients

  • 6 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons sage
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and celery; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add cornbread crumbs and chicken broth; mix well.
  6. Transfer to a greased skillet and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth.
