- Cooking spray
- Optional: caramel sauce or powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Peel and core apples, then cut into 1/2-inch thick fry-shaped strips.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Dredge each apple strip in flour, dip in egg, then coat evenly in the spiced breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange apple fries in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately with caramel sauce or a dusting of powdered sugar.
