For the Crust:
- 2 large apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- Cooking spray
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C). Peel and core apples, then slice into 1/2-inch thick fry-shaped strips.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with cinnamon and sugar.
- Dredge each apple strip in flour, dip in egg, then coat in the panko mixture. Place on a plate and lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Arrange apple fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately with caramel sauce, yogurt, or your favorite dip.
