  • Author: Chef Emy

Description

A hearty and creamy dish featuring ground beef and orzo pasta in a rich tomato cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and ground beef. Cook until beef is browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add orzo and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
