For the Crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup finely chopped apple
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1β2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease an 8Γ8 inch baking pan.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in chopped apple and walnuts.
- Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- For frosting, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and 1 tablespoon milk until smooth. Add more milk if needed for desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled blondies.
