Soft, chewy blondies packed with fresh apple chunks and topped with a sweet maple glaze.

For the Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup finely chopped apple
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease an 8Γ—8 inch baking pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix melted butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in chopped apple and walnuts.
  5. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. For frosting, whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and 1 tablespoon milk until smooth. Add more milk if needed for desired consistency. Drizzle over cooled blondies.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
