A quick and easy one-pot meal that combines the flavors of pizza with the comfort of pasta.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large pot or deep skillet, brown the Italian sausage over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, water, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the penne pasta to the pot, stirring to combine. Cover and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender.
  5. Preheat the broiler. Top the pasta with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and Parmesan cheese.
  6. Place the pot under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.
