  • Author: Chef Emy

Description

A delicious twist on classic sloppy joes with the flavors of a Philly cheesesteak, featuring ground beef, peppers, onions, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Place a slice of provolone cheese on each toasted bun. Spoon the beef mixture over the cheese and serve immediately.
