  • 4 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in flour and chili powder, stirring constantly for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  3. Add garlic powder, salt, cumin, and oregano, stirring to combine.
  4. Gradually pour in broth while whisking continuously to prevent lumps.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
