Description

A quick and aromatic stir-fried rice dish featuring fresh basil, garlic, and vegetables.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok over high heat.
  2. Add garlic and onion, stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. Add red bell pepper and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Push ingredients to the side and pour in the beaten eggs, scrambling them.
  5. Add the cooked rice, soy sauce, fish sauce, and sugar; stir-fry to combine.
  6. Mix in the Thai basil leaves and cook until wilted.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh holy basil if available. Adjust spiciness with chili peppers.
