Description

A flavorful Turkish dish featuring juicy lamb kebabs marinated in spices and served over fluffy rice, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g lamb shoulder, cubed
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the lamb cubes with grated onion, garlic, olive oil, cumin, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Let marinate for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated lamb onto skewers.
  3. Grill the kebabs for 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.
  4. While kebabs are grilling, rinse the rice. In a pot, bring water to boil, add rice, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Fluff the rice with butter and chopped tomatoes.
  6. Serve the kebabs over the rice, garnished with additional tomatoes if desired.

Notes

For vegetarian alternative, use cauliflower or tofu instead of lamb. Adjust spices to taste.
