- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups diced apples (peeled and cored)
- For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prepare the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla, and milk, stirring until combined.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in diced apples.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- For the glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled bread.
- Slice and serve once glaze sets.
Notes
For extra texture, add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
