Gooey Salted Caramel Cream Cheese Cupcakes

Description

Delicious cupcakes with a creamy cheese filling and gooey caramel topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  5. Fill cupcake liners halfway with batter. Add a dollop of cream cheese in the center of each.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cool, then drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with sea salt.

Notes

For extra gooeyness, use homemade caramel sauce. Store in an airtight container.
