Description

An upgraded version of the traditional green bean casserole with fresh ingredients and a crispy topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (6 oz) French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. Boil green beans in salted water for 5 minutes; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and soy sauce until smooth.
  4. Stir in the green beans and half of the cheddar cheese.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and French fried onions, then bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

For a healthier twist, use low-sodium soup and fresh onions instead of canned.
