An upgraded version of the traditional green bean casserole with fresh ingredients and a crispy topping.

- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (6 oz) French fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Boil green beans in salted water for 5 minutes; drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and soy sauce until smooth.
- Stir in the green beans and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
- Top with the remaining cheddar cheese and French fried onions, then bake for an additional 5 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
For a healthier twist, use low-sodium soup and fresh onions instead of canned.
